NUS Extra is a student discount scheme which costs £12 however you do get a student discount card sent to you which can be used in loads of shops. It does seem expensive to pay £12 to receive discounts however each year I have purchased this card I have saved more money than it cost to purchase. There are two specific bonuses to the NUS Extra card; the first is that you can use it as proof of being a student in local and independent shops which may offer discount but are not affiliated with the UNiDAYS app, secondly for an extra £2.99 you can get the ISIC bolt on meaning your ID is then valid worldwide which is perfect for use on holiday or if you are taking a gap year abroad.
