Slimming World “Just like Heinz” Soup
Due to dislocating my jaw way too many times I’m now suffering from Trismus which is otherwise known as lockjaw. I can barely open my mouth and eating is very painful so I have to stick to a fairly soft diet. Thankfully its now coming into soup season!
I’ve been really fancying Heinz Tomato soup recently but its not very Slimming World friendly at 11.5 syns a tin. After a quick google search I came across lots of different versions and this is the one I settled on trying. I wish I knew who the original creator of the recipe was to thank them because it was delicious! Just what I needed. It is super simple to make too so if your low on energy it is ideal.
Ingredients
- 1/2 Pint of vegetable stock
- 1 Tin of baked beans
- 1 Tin of carrots
- 2 Tins of tomatoes
- Dash of Worcestershire sauce
- 6 Silverskin pickled onions
Method
Put all ingredients into a saucepan, heat through, blitz up and serve.
Cost per portion
Not only is this soup easy to make, syn free and packed full of speed food it is really cheap to make too at just 45p per portion! The most expensive ingredient is the Worcestershire sauce but you use so little of it. It’s a staple for Slimming World plus it is beautiful with cheese on toast if you’re not dieting so well worth investing in. If you didn’t have any of the ingredients in stock the total cost to purchase the ingredients would be £3.37 at Tesco but you’d have 9 stock cubes and around 130ml Worcestershire sauce left.
Please let me know if you try the slimming world “just like Heinz” soup! What is your favourite soup recipe? Please let me know in the comments would love to try them.
